Ram Daas was an American spiritual teacher and author who helped popularize eastern spirituality and yoga in the west.   He authored many popular books including Be Here Now, Grist for the Mill, How Can I Help?, and Polishing the Mirror.    In the 1960s, he was professionally associated with Timothy Leary, and conducted research on the therapeutic effects of psychadelic drugs.
